Ari Lennox

Courtney Shanade Salter, aka Ari Lennox, was born in Washington, D.C. on April 26th in 1991. She's an American musician and singer. She was the first artist to be signed by J. Cole to his record label Dreamville Records. In the month of October, Ari Lennox released her EP Pho. The EP was where she was recognized. Shea Butter Baby, her debut album, was released on 7 May 2019. Ari Lennox started uploading her music onto the internet in 2012 when she released her debut mixtape called Five Finger Discount and debut EP Ariography In 2013. Ari Lennox continued to upload her songs online throughout 2014 and released her own single Bound. Sweat It is featured on Omen's Elephant Eyes album which dropped on July 21, 2015. Later that year her music began to circulate throughout the Dreamville group as J. Cole wanted her to collaborate with him on some possible references for Rihanna. In December 2008, the news was made public that Rihanna had been signed with Dreamville Records. Backseat is a track that she sang together with Cozz in her Revenge of the Dreamers II collaboration album. In the month of October the singer-songwriter released her debut EP, Pho. Ari Lennox was a guest on J. Cole's Change, and she performed on her own 4 Your Eyez Only Tour as opening performance. Also, she was featured on the songs Nothing but the Best by EarthGang and Icarus together with Bas, her labelmates. On July 16 2018 Ari Lennox released the first single, Whipped Cream of her album debut Shea Butter Baby with an accompanying music video, which was released on the 5th of September. Then on the 9th of November 2018 the singer released two more singles called 40 Shades of Choke (and Grampa). On November 13 two new singles, titled The No One and pedigree. Shea Butter Baby is a track she sang alongside Cole on the soundtrack to Creed II on November 16th. It was then released as a single on its own in February of 2019 to coincide with the release of her debut album. The song, made available with a video uploaded to YouTube 20 February 2019 has been viewed over 3 million times within the first 7 days. In December of 2018, she was an opening act for From East Atlanta With Love Tour. From East Atlanta With Love Tour in conjunction with 6LACK.
